Hear the twenty splendid “next generation thinkers” (NPR) of this formidably gifted ensemble in works ideally calibrated to show off their “equal parts exuberance, nonchalance, and virtuosity” (Financial Times of London). The evening includes Pale Icons of Night, a new violin concerto by Oscar Bettison; Kinda Asleep, a musical fantasy on the music of Matt Marks by Stefan Freund, AWS cellist; Electric Aroma, a piece written by Viet Cuong for Alarm Will Sound and the 2018 Mizzou International Composition Festival; and Phonotopographie a work that is part story-telling, part musical reverie by Zosha Di Castri.
