“One of the most vital and original ensembles on the American music scene.” — The New York Times
About the Program
Alarm Will Sound travels to Beethovenfest Bonn for the premiere of gLitchED dreams//invisible BEINGS by 2026 Beethovenfest Fellow Brittany J. Green—a piece in which algorithms intervene live in the players’ instructions. Built with video art and text collage, it follows an android named Eye as he tries to break free of the path written for him: a work about AI, freedom, and the flaw in the system.
Green’s premiere anchors an all-American program of new music, including works by Christian Quiñones, Elijah Daniel Smith, Bobby Ge, and the ensemble’s own Chris P. Thompson. Together they turn the ensemble into a kind of noise machine, catching the sounds of the technologized world we live in.
Program
Christian Quiñones — Hasta que no pueda
Elijah Daniel Smith — Vermillion Glare
Chris P. Thompson — Hanabi
Brittany J. Green — gLitchED dreams//invisible BEINGS (premiere)
Bobby Ge — You Are A Topological Donut
