The culminating event of the Mizzou International Composers Festival, the World Premieres Concert is the heart of what MICF represents: new music created here, now, for this moment. After a week of workshops, rehearsals, and creative exchange, each of the festival’s eight resident composers unveils a brand-new work—performed by Alarm Will Sound.

This concert is the festival’s most anticipated tradition. Each premiere reveals a singular artistic voice, yet together the pieces form a collective portrait of contemporary composition in all its range: intricate and explosive, intimate and expansive, deeply personal and boldly forward-looking.
